I'd like to start by saying I can't believe I haven't shared my air fryer chicken bites recipe on the site until now - it's how I've been making them since I've got my first air fryer more than a decade ago.
Making these boneless chicken bites in the air fryer has been like my little secret weapon in the kitchen. They're like little nuggets of deliciousness and the perfect combination of crispy and juicy while also being packed with flavor.
Seriously, they're so good, you might just find yourself sneaking a few before they even hit the table! I do it just about every time I make them 🙂
Why you'll love these air fryer chicken breast bites
- They're super versatile - toss them in a salad, wrap them up in a tortilla, or just enjoy them straight up with your favorite dipping sauce.
- They're juicy inside and crispy on the outside without using any cornflour or breading.
- The seasoning makes them extra flavorful so you don't end up with bland chicken.

What you'll need
Chicken breast - I like to cut the boneless chicken breast into 1-inch cubes so they cook quickly and evenly.
Olive oil - You just need a splash of olive oil so the chicken bites don't stick.
Paprika - I like to make these chicken bites with regular paprika, especially when I use them as an addition to soups or curries, but they taste incredible with smoked paprika, too!
Dried oregano - You can also add some dried basil and/or dried parsley or even use some Italian herbs mix instead.
Garlic powder - I think a dash of garlic powder is all you need to add loads of flavor to the chicken but you can also add some onion powder or chili powder.

Pro tip
Dice the boneless chicken breast into similar-sized bites so they cook evenly!
How to make chicken bites in the air fryer
This is a quick overview with step-by-step photos. The full recipe with detailed steps is in the recipe card at the end of this post.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
Place the chicken cubes in a large bowl, add all the spices and mix well.

Add the chicken bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook for 12 minutes at 400°F (200°C), tossing the chicken halfway.

Recipe tips and notes
- Make sure you don't overcrowd the air fryer basket. With most air fryers, you'll need to work in batches.
- It's best to check the internal temperature of the chicken with a meat thermometer. You should have a minimum internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- The splash of olive oil added to the chicken should be enough to prevent the chicken bites from sticking, but you can also spray the air fryer basket with olive oil nonstick spray.
- This recipe was tested in a Cosori Dual Blaze 6.8-Quart Smart Air Fryer.
What to serve with air fryer chicken bites
- The chicken bites are great on their own, served with your favorite dips.
- Alternatively, serve them in salads, like this Chicken Fajita Pasta Salad for example, or as an extra protein addition to this Curried Chickpea Salad.
- Stir them up in a curry to boost the protein intake - my Lentil Chickpea Curry or this Peanut Butter Curry are both great ideas.
- Toss them in a quick sweet chilli mayo and you're halfway to my air fryer bang bang chicken.
- They're also a great addition to soups, such as this Chicken Tikka Masala Soup or my Marry Me Chicken Soup.
Leftovers and storage
- These boneless chicken bites taste best fresh, but they're also great for meal prep.
- Store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat them in the air fryer before adding them to your favorite dishes.
- I don't recommend freezing the chicken bites.
