Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) fresh green beans, trimmed and patted dry
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ cup (50 g) Parmesan, freshly grated

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, toss the beans with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and the grated Parmesan until everything is well coated.
    1 lb fresh green beans
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    ½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    ½ cup Parmesan
  • Spread the beans out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast for 15 to 18 minutes, shaking the pan once or twice, until the beans are tender with lightly crisped edges and the cheese has turned golden.
  • Serve immediately while they’re still hot.

Notes

  • Use a large pan so the green beans are spread in a single layer; this ensures an even roasting.
  • Since every oven is different, it’s best to check the green beans at the 10 minute mark to make sure they’re not roasting too quickly.
